We are told that no one but God can judge, but what does that mean? Today we hear a story of a woman pestering an unjust judge, demanding he give her the justice she is owed. This judge is finally worn down and caves in, giving this woman what she asked. Yet, the story ends with Jesus juxtaposing this judge with God inviting us to wonder how God’s judgement is different.

A word of encouragement came from the prophet Jeremiah to his people: “Live a life that is full – build, plant, eat, love, multiply. Pray for your communities. Keep God in the center of all that is.” We enter worship today with hope in our hearts.

We gather, as God's people, bringing our fears and pain, knowing that when our spirits have grown cold, God rekindles the gift of faith in us.

Jeremiah 32 is one big story, with a lot of dialogue from God. It is another object lesson for Jeremiah.

“Give me an accounting of your management,” the master said to his manager.

On Wednesday night our Adult Bible discussed Salvation and how we can approach it differently. We studied John 3:16, one of the most recognize verses of the Bible. We see it all around us, handwritten on poster boards at sports games, embroidered Jesus-freak apparel, and printed on the bottom of forever 21 bags. Yet, what does that really mean?

Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.

We are a community of faith that has been created by the love of God. Come and praise God with us. Hear of Christ’s goodness. And receive the Holy Spirit’s gifts of kindness and love.

The Gospel is not all “Joy to the World and Peace like a River.” The work of Christ isn’t always a feel-good moment. In order to follow Jesus, we must be ready to do the work required no matter how divisive it is or how bad it feels.

We stand in line for tickets, books, and gadgets. We place our energy in gathering things that might be of monetary value at some later point. When we have gathered enough, we tend to relax and say to ourselves that it is all right for us to "eat, drink, and be merry". We have done our best. But have we?

Sometimes you just feel good. Maybe you feel a half-inch taller or your clothes just fit right. Everything is just perfect in the day your making. It is like the sun is shining just for you, but then things turn. Your happiness is shattered, and you find yourself covered in a rain cloud that is drowning any happiness that you had. Leaving you with one question…Why?
