Food Memories - Cheryl

The month of May is always a time I associate with setting out the main part of the garden with my dad. He would have egg cartons in random warm places in the house until he deemed it ok to plant. Before this bulk planting time he would have cool weather crops out and continue till and prepare the acre behind our home for his sharing garden.

He always told me that if you plant with the intent to share there would always be an abundance. To me that was always the norm, an abundance! After he had fed our family, I would put the “abundance” in the wagon and take to various people in the neighborhood.

This recipe is simple but reminds of the of the spring fruits of the garden.
